Vujadin Boskov/ Stevan Nešticki Cup 2018

Drago’s Football Academy has been, for the second time invited to participate in the 2018 Vujadin Boskov Cup held in Novi Sad, Serbia. This tournament will be hosted by FK Vojvodina at the outstanding facilities of the Vujadin Boskov Sports Centre and will take place from the 8th -10th of June 2018.

The tournament is expecting around 128 teams, 14 European Countries and more than 2000 players from more than 20 nations in which we are the only team from Australia. Stand out teams, which will participate in the tournament include PAOK (GRE), TAMPA BRASOV (ROM), DINAMO MOSKOW (RUS), FK PARTIZAN (SRB), FK VOJVODNIA (SRB), FK CRVENA ZVEZDA (SRB), DINAMO ZAGREB (CRO), HAJDUK SPLIT (CRO) and many more.

Our Academy will be looking at putting together 2 teams with LIMITED spots of 10 players per team (U12 & U11) U12s team will consist of 2006 born players and younger and U11s will consist of 2007 born and younger. Each team will play 7aside (6+1) games with a minimum of 9 matches throughout the duration of the tournament.

Additionally, for the first time our Academy has been invited to put together a Youth Squad in order to compete in the Stevan Nešticki Tournament held on the same dates as a Youth Competition.

This tournament is known globally as one of the oldest Memorial Tournaments in the world. As a result, we will also be putting together an U15 team. This team will consist of 16 players & 2 Goal Keeps who will play a minimum of 4-5 matches on a full sized pitch. Current 15/14 year olds (2003/4 born) and younger will be illegible to apply.

Drago’s Football Academy will be departing a week prior to the tournaments commencement dates, where players will take part in privately run training sessions prior to the tournament. All sessions will be conducted by FK Vojvodina and elite private academies.

The total duration of the trip will be 15 days.
